EvoEnzyme supports the practical training of students enabling them to work on projects such as WoundSens. This effort has an important value, since the opportunity for them to be involved in a European project of the scope of WoundSens will contribute advantageously to their professional development.
This is the case of Carolina Rodríguez, who conducted her research in EvoEnzyme lab to complete the Biotechnology Degree from the Universidad Europea. As part of the project WoundSens and under the supervision of PhD student Juan Carlos Martín and Dr. Javier Viña, Carolina was focused on developing a directed evolution platform for oxidoreductase enzymes, which will serve as biosensors in the smart bandage for continuous monitoring of chronic wounds. She successfully defended this work as her Degree’s Final Thesis with an excellent grade!
